Our Mission
AgniTerra goal is to accelerate the deployment of next-gen geothermal technologies that alone can provide energy for civilization for million years
Superhot Rock Energy
UNIQUENESS
Why next-gen geothermal, especially dry-heat closed-loop technologies:
- A source of an unlimited supply of ‘freely available’ sustainable energy - ubiquitous, inexhaustible, available everywhere 24/7/365 baseload power generation
- Environmentally benign and ESG-compliant electricity - NO emission, NO wastes, NO fuel, NO water use
- Inexpensive baseload power: $0.03-$0.04/kWh
- Smallest footprint: 250MW plant on 25 acres - <5% per MWh of solar or wind.
- Provides residual energy, primed for global-scale adoption
Drilling up to 10-15 km is feasible and up to 500°C GeoHeat is attainable
Today, reaching a depth of 2 to 7 km (depending on geographical location) and temperatures of 300-350 degrees Celsius is deemed the most economical.
Why next-gen dry-heat closed-loop geothermal is significantly better than a conventional one?
Conventional geothermal:
- Cannot scale to global relevance using either in situ or injected water
- The energy carried at < 200°C is too low, and relevant sites are too few and distant from markets
- Significant environmental hazards - depletes scarce water resources, contaminated water disposal, seismic concerns
Next-gen dry-heat closed-loop technologies overcome these barriers to yield fuel-free dispatchable energy in areas of high demand with a Levelized Cost of Energy (LCoE) moving towards $40/MWh – lower than all renewables and competitive with fossil fuel incumbents.
IMPACT
economy | climate | social
Humanity needs a global energy transition to achieve:
Energy security
Water security
Food security
Climate goals
Development of deserted lands
Mitigating migrations for economic reasons
Alleviating regional economic disparity
Readiness for Global Rollout
The global energy market is on a path to a major transformation
The next-gen geothermal technologies are on the rise. Technologies aimed at harvesting dry heat at ≥300°C from a hot rock 3-5km below the earth's surface are arguably considered the most promising baseload energy source capable of providing mankind with abundant energy for thousands of years ahead in the most environmentally friendly manner, available everywhere 24/7, globally scalable, economically unbeatable in comparison with any other major source of energy available at scale now.
Dry-heat closed-loop technologies, for example, that target and harvest heat at ≥ 300°C, are capable of yielding 5x more power than conventional geothermal methods.
Drilling up to 10-15 km is feasible and up to 500oC GeoHeat is attainable
Today, reaching a depth of 2 to 7 km (depending on geographical location) and temperatures of 300-350 degrees Celsius is deemed the most economical.
